On December 27, 2012 the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 presented a cheque for $1500 to the Gander Heritage Memorial Park. Taking part in the December presentation were: Ladies Auxiliary President, Cynthia Pheifer; Gander Heritage Memorial Park Chairperson, Wilson Hoffe; Ladies Auxiliary Secretary, Beulah Cooper; and Ladies Auxiliary Treasurer, Rita Pearce. Money raised for the donation were through various fundraisers in 2012, including the Seniors Pot Luck Dinner & Dance held on November 24th and the sale of tickets on a handmade jean quilt donated by Cynthia Pheifer.
